The terms and conditions below are the basis of an agreement between you as a customer, and WOGAC as tour-operator. We therefore hope that you will read the conditions before you book your excursions. World of Greenland - Arctic Circle (WOGAC) has a product insurance with Codan Insurance. WOGAC only uses boats approved by the The Danish Maritime Authority for passenger transport, and only boats with valid insurances.
Cancellations
WOGAC reserves the right to cancel arrangements on the following conditions: too few enrolments, bad ice conditions, technical problems on boats and bad weather. It is the captain of the boat or WOGAC who make the decision to cancel an excursion e.g. due to bad weather – not the customer. If WOGAC cancels an excursion, because of the reasons mentioned above, the full amount will be refunded to the customer, including all other fees paid. If the customer has bought other excursions from WOGAC, and one excursion influences the other tours in the program, we will at no cost try to adjust the program, in order to offer the booked excursions, in a different order. If excursions in this connection should be cancelled we also refund these, provided they are ordered through WOGAC. WOGAC doesn’t undertake the responsibility for other operators’ excursions if changes in the program affects these.
Prioritization in case of cancellations
When excursions are cancelled because of the reasons mentioned above, cases can occur when someone with a guaranteed ticket will not get to go on an excursion, while others will. In such a case, prioritizations are not made solely based on when the ticket is bought, as other considerations can play a part. It is World of Greenland - Arctic Circle alone who on any given day decides who is to take part in the component excursions.
Shortened excursions
Ongoing excursions can, for various reasons, be shortened or changed due to bad weather, snow conditions on the trail, ice conditions etc. The route of the slede tour, or length, is sometimes changed because of the weather, the trail, ice-conditions etc. It is only the driver of the sled who decides how the excursion gets through and subsequently no compensation is given for changed or shortened excursions. Hiking trips can likewise change because of fog or other kinds of weather that does not allow for the completion of the hike or planned route. It is the guide on the hike alone who decides this. Subsequently no compensation is given for changed or shortened hikes. The route and length of boat trips may change depending on the weather and ice conditions. It is the captain alone who decides this. Subsequently, the lost minutes of sailing will be refunded, if this exceeds 25% of the total excursion time. There is no refund on any shortened time on land.
If you as a customer wish to cancel, change or hand over reservations
When the excursion is paid for and confirmed, it is not possible to cancel, change or hand over the ticket. We recommend that you buy health insurance and travel insurance so your excursions are ensured in case you, your travel companions or nearest family becomes ill. WOGAC is not responsible for delayed flights between Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq or any other destination. Should you be delayed on your journey to Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq, meaning that you will not be able to participate in a purchased excursion, we ask you to contact World of Greenland -Arctic Circle as soon as possible. We will in every single case try to move the excursion, but there is no guarantee of this being possible.
Prices for children
Infants of less than 2 years of age participate in our excursions for free. Children from the age of 2 to the age of 11 years, both included, participate in our excursions at a reduced price as per the price list for WOGAC excursions.
Minimum number of participants
Certain excursions have a given minimum number of participants. The given number is specified on the excursion descriptions. We do, in a few cases, make exceptions and carry out excursions with fewer participants. Cancellation of excursions because of too few participants can happen up to an hour before the start of the excursion. If this should happen, we will do our utmost to offer an alternative excursion. If this is not possible, the excursion is cancelled and the client will receive a full refund. In addition to this, no claim for compensation can be done against WOGAC.
Time changes
We reserve the right to change the times written on the ticket. We therefore recommend that you contact WOGAC immediately after your arrival to Sisimiut and Kangerlussuaq to get an updated program for the day.
Cancellation rights
All purchases of WOGAC excursions are final. Cancellation rights do not apply to accommodation arrangements, transport, provisioning, recreational activities, if the agreement states on which day or in which period of time the arrangement takes place. Therefore the mentioned cancellation rules apply.
Use of personal information
When you have reserved an excursion at WOGAC, we gather the following information about all participants: Names and gender. We will gather the following information about the payer: Address, e-mail and means of payment. The participant names will be passed on to the shipping company, if a boat trip has been purchased. In other cases the information given to World of Greenland - Arctic Circle will not be passed on.
Liability to pay compensation
World of Greenland - Arctic Circle renounces any responsibility in relation to cancelled excursions and compensations for expected experiences. Furthermore, we also renounce any liability to pay compensation in relation to delays that causes the the participant to miss a transportation connection. Furthermore, WOGAC limits the liability to pay compensation for the flight transports to the sum/amount laid down in the Warszawa-convention and for sea transport to the sum/amount laid down in Athens convention.
Complaints
Any complaints are to be stated during the excursion so the unsatisfactory conditions/circumstances can be attempted solved at once. Also, they must be directed to the staff of World of Greenland - Arctic Circle immediately after the completion of the trip. If the complaint is not solved, a written complaint is to be sent no later than 3 weeks after returning from the trip. In all proceedings against World of Greenland, the Greenlandic judicial system is used.
Price change after reservation
At WOGAC we reserve the right to increase the price after reservation due to changes in purchase conditions, cost of transport (including the price of fuel and taxes), foreign exchange quotations or other circumstances that we as organizers cannot take into account beforehand. This hardly ever happens.
Insurances
World of Greenland - Arctic Circle has the compulsory product insurances. However, it does not cover insurance of the participant’s personal belongings. Should personal belongings be damaged or lost on the excursion, it is at one’s own expense or insurance. We therefore recommend that you take out in insurance that cover these cases before leaving your home country.
Other conditions
We have done our best to avoid misprints in our catalogues, brochures, advertisements and on our website, but errors do occur. WOGAC assumes no responsibility for misprints in these printed media. Any demand against World of Greenland - Arctic Circle is to be settled by the Greenlandic judicial system.
